Güney Kıbrıs’a 2022 yılında giden siyasi sığınmacı sayısı, toplam nüfusun yüzde 6’sına ulaştı.

Alithia gazetesi, Güney Kıbrıs’ın maruz kaldığı mülteci göçü ve siyasi sığınma taleplerinin ulaştığı boyutun büyük sorunlar yaratmaya başladığını, bunlardan birinin de, siyasi sığınmacı sayısının, Güney Kıbrıs’ın toplam nüfusunun yüzde 6’sına ulaşması olduğunu yazdı.

Gazete, 2022 yılında Güney Kıbrıs makamlarına yapılan siyasi sığınma başvurularının sayısının rekor bir rakamla 20 bin 258’e ulaştığını belirtirken, yıl içinde 10 bin 700 doğum olduğunu aktardı.

20 bin 258 sığınmacının yüzde 94’ünün Yeşil Hat üzerinden Güney Kıbrıs’a geçtiklerini de iddia eden gazete, yeni doğumların yüzde 38’inin ise yabancı annelerden gerçekleştiğini vurguladı.
